How to connect a Domain from Cloudflare
If you are planning to point your Domain's Nameservers to Cloudflare's Nameservers but still want to use your domain with your Charged Nodes Web Hosting plan, then you can follow the guide given below to point your domain to Charged Nodes Web Hosting Servers.
We recommend directly pointing your domain to our Nameservers to skip adding DNS Records each time you create a subdomain.
This guide will tell you which records you need to add in your Cloudflare's DNS Zone to point your domain to our Web Hosting servers.
We assume you have already set up your domain with Cloudflare.
This guide only tells you how you can point your base domain, Each time you create a Sub-Domain from the cPanel, you will also need to add an A Record and required records for it in Cloudflare DNS Zone.
Advantages of Cloudflare:
1. Super Fast DNS.
2. Powerful DDoS protection for the websites with Cloudflare Proxy Enabled.
3. Free SSL.
All features can be found on their website - https://cloudflare.com
1. You need to first open your domain's DNS Zone under the Cloudflare dashboard.
2. Now, you need to add the following records to your DNS Zone
Type: A
Name: @
We used @ symbol to point the root domain.
IPv4 address: In this field enter your Shared IPv4 Address which you got in cPanel.
Proxy Status: DNS Only
TTL: Auto
Like above you need to also create a few more A Records with the same settings but just replace the Name with the values given below. (Ensure to create different A records for each name/subdomain)
1. mail
2. www
3. cpanel
4. webmail
5. webdisk
6. cpcontacts
7. cpcalendars8. smtp
After you are done adding all the A records you can add the MX records given below
Type: MX
Name: @
We used @ symbol to point the root domain.
Mail server: In this field enter your domain name, for example, chargednodes.com
TTL: Auto
Priority: 5
Now you are done with most of the configuration.
Keep in mind each time you create a Subdomain from your cPanel interface you will add the A records for it in Cloudflare.
With the template of A record given before, replace the Name with your subdomain name, For example, if the main subdomain is cloud.domain.com, then in the name you need to write cloud.
If you create any Emails on your subdomain, for example, [email protected] then there are 80% chances it won't work, So you need to stick with emails created on a base domain like [email protected]. To make Emails created on your subdomains work, you need to point your domain directly to our Nameservers.
